Descriptions of Responsibilities:
- Assist bilingual/biliterate individual students and small groups of students through instructional activities which have been planned, assigned and organized by the teacher.
- Assist the teacher in the preparation of instructional materials and instructional aides.
- Assist the teacher securing, preparing, and operating instructional media as directed by the teacher.
- Assist the teacher collecting and organizing data and information.
- Assist the teacher in the preparation of schedules, charts, and rosters.
- Assist the teacher in recording grades and related information.
- Assist the teacher in maintaining various files
- Performs such other duties as assigned by their supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of study at an institute of higher education or
- Associates Degree (or higher) or Successful completion of ParaPro Assessment (ETS)
- Familiar with Microsoft, Excel, Internet, scanning documents, and/or data input
- First Aid/CPR or ability to complete
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Implementing and guiding interventions, testing skills (DIBELS, IDEL, DRA2, EDL, PreLas, etc)
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: MENTAL DEMANDS Required to deal with a wide range of student, staff and public behaviors and needs in a positive and service-oriented manner. May occasionally deal with distraught or difficult students or parents. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Amount of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and twisting will vary depending on the age of students and classroom assignments. Physical capabilities also require lifting and carrying (no more than 50 lbs.) pushing and/or pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and significant finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires approximately 35% sitting, 35% walking, and 30% standing. Maintaining good hygiene is essential.
